Well a great time was had by all. I can’t believe that Malta isn’t booked out 24/7.
It is the most amazing holiday destination and there was something for everyone, which
Doesn’t happen often. Being there in festival week was so special, we went to Moster on
Assumption day and between fireworks displays, Mary being paraded down the streets, church bells ringing
I have never experienced anything so awesome and meaningful.
Your suggestion to do the Jeep treasure hunt on Gozo island was definitely the favourite, we had a chance
To explore the island while mingling with the locals and some teams bribing locals to fill in the answers but so
Much fun was had, they still talking about it. Lorien and Josey who you organised to escorted us to Gozo were fantastic.
We went on the Oh YEAH cruise on Friday night which took us to Comino Island where we docked for a few hours
Included was beer, wine, sangria, dinner and a DJ who could not believe that south Africans could party that hard
All for the price of 30 euro’s per person it was awesome. We swam in the med till about 11pm and then returned
To Mellieha. The boat left from the pier just below the Mexico restaurant 50meters from the hotel.
The hotel was great, good food, staff where helpful on every request. (With my luggage arriving a day late
they kept me informed on how far it was and when I could expect it, most comforting).
Thank you for suggesting Malta it was an absolute win.

Of Malta, they so impressed with your professionalism and how quickly you got a trip together.

I always ask myself the question “what makes an event successful?” Is it the planning of the event, is it the type of event or the implementation of the event. In my opinion it definitely encompasses all three of these elements. This is what has made the Phezulu event as successful.

The initial presentation of the Visions staff was professional and you surely know your business. What also made an impact was the fact that you admitted to your capabilities as well as your development areas from the start. Your lack of experience in dealing with an alcohol company certainly was not a stumbling block and your team certainly rose to the occasion.

Planning an event always takes a lot out of people but Sue certainly ensured that the process was as painless and smooth as possible. From the time that the team presented the different options to the final proposal was exceptionally professional. There was a concerted effort to understand our requirements as well as understand the delegates that would be attending the event. This ensured that the package was absolutely tailor made to our requirements.  The constant consultation and budget proposal ensured that we were always aware of the different stages of the process we were at. We were alerted of issues timeously and they were sorted rapidly. There was nothing that your team found insurmountable. They were very forthright with dealing with issues and resolving them.

Once the proposal was accepted the real planning began, Sue took control and made things happen. She ensured that our every need was attended to, as well as our requirements were met. The fact that I was taken on a recce to the venue to ensure that it was absolutely what I required, I felt was a special touch. There are not many event organisers that do this, particularly since it meant travelling to Mauritius for a few days. This gave me the absolute confidence about the event as well as the venue. The staff of the Shandrani hotel were absolutely fabulous and ensured that our every request was met with a can do attitude. At one stage I was concerned that people were just saying yes to get me to give them the business. This was because a lot of the requests were outside of their normal business practices which they happily accommodated. I was pleasantly surprised that they were not just paying lip service. Everything that had been discussed certainly happened as planned. The constant communication and follow up of information from Sue, certainly ensured that everything was in place prior to departure.

The departure process was flawless, thanx to Wendy. Although delegates didn’t follow instructions, which is nothing unusual, Wendy ensured that they embarked hassle free, as well as ensuring that the bags got to the hotel in one piece, and to the correct rooms once they arrived at the hotel. This being quite an achievement, as I battle to manage my own luggage when I travel. Once the delegates arrived in Mauritius, their problems all disappeared as Vanessa and Wendy ensured that they had absolutely nothing to worry about. The fact that delegates knew exactly who they needed to go to when there was a problem, certainly made people relax more. Having said this, the Visions team were also virtually invisible so delegates didn’t feel as if they were being watched at all times. This just added to the relaxed environment that we wanted and needed to create. Again, whenever there was a problem, it was sorted out effortlessly by both the Visions team as well as the hotel staff.

The main gala event was the highlight of the trip. The event absolutely blew the delegates away, and this was all due to meticulous planning. Visions had to deal with third party suppliers in Mauritius, which was a challenge in itself. This challenge was also overcome with no hiccups. The event was laid out exactly as it was explained. Nothing had been compromised and everything promised was delivered.

The biggest challenge was on the way back. Mauritius international airport had an unusual rush of travellers leaving the airport at the same time. The queues were going forever. Again the Visions team kicked into action and ensured that none of us were unnecessarily delayed and ensured that all were on the flight.

The letter may seem a bit dramatic, but the Visions team had absolutely impressed me. I have been in this industry for a good few years, and have never experienced the professionalism that was displayed by this team.

To Vanessa, Sue and Wendy thank you so much for your enthusiasm, commitment and resolve in ensuring that the event was a memorable occasion for all that attended.
